Over the past few months I’ve been working on so many different fun projects in the studio and the newest one is releasing September 6th at 10am EST!

It will be my first original paintings release featuring 4 different Acrylic Gouache Paintings.

Lets Talk About the Canvases

I’ve painted on 2 different types of canvases for this collection as well. Two of the paintings are on Cradled FSC-Certified Wooden panels, and the other two are on hotpress watercolor paper.

When creating this first collection of original paintings I wanted to start with canvases that I love and would also make great additions to others homes.

The Wooden Panels are such great canvases because once they are painted they are ready for display. You don’t need extra framing, or special hardware, which makes adding it to a home so easy. With the size of the pieces in this collection you can easily display these pieces on a shelf, a side table, or hang on a wall.

For the paper pieces; they will be ready to frame. With their sizes you can easily find a frame that fits the decor of your home, and you can even make them look bigger if you want by using a frame that has a matting in them.

These paintings are all inspired by the ocean + clouds from different points of view. So I would love to introduce them to you one by one!

Meet the Paintings

This painting is one of my favorites! It was inspired by a photo I took at a favorite spot last year.

Our beaches were still dealing with damage from numerous storms, and this particular beach had lost some of its stairs so you couldn’t get to the beach “traditionally” so this new path started to form in what was the dune area, it was so pretty with all of the plants and occasionally gaillardia. So naturally I took a photo, and eventually that photo inspired this painting. With some creative fun while painting the wave because our waves aren’t quite that great on the East Coast. But the perspective of looking down a beach path and seeing a great wave just sounds like the most perfect beach adventure.

This lil beach path no longer exists and the stairs are back, and the dunes have been replanted and have signs up so no one walks on them which is great! But I love how something that started as storm damage driven change ended up having this much longer living story.

This piece is a Cradled 5X5″ Wooden FSC-Certified Panel, with a natural wooden edge. Ready for Display.

Next up staying on the same canvas type, we have a major cloud moment with a lil set of waves coming in, on a particularly lovely evening where the foam of the wave reflects on the water it’s crashing into.

This painting was a fun one since its painted from a more angled pointed of view rather than head on. This piece was inspired by our lovely clouds that I like to call 3D clouds where you can really see the texture from them, and hints of yellows here and there. Playing with the shape was a really fun part for this pieces.

This Pieces is a Cradled 5X7″ Wooden FSC-Certified Panel, with a white edge finish. Ready for display.

Now lets move on to our paper pieces. This pieces isn’t inspired by an actual photo of mine or anyones. Over the past year I’ve really gotten into watching surfing competitions, and YouTube videos. I don’t surf, nor do I plan on learning, but I LOVE to watch it and see all of the beautiful waves all over the world. So that’s what inspired this more wave focused piece.

A mishmash of watching waves from all over the world thanks to Competitions streams, and Surfers who share their trips in the form of Youtube videos.

This pieces is painted on a 5X5″ 140lb Hotpress Watercolor paper. The painting will need to be framed for display.

Last but not least a painting with quite a different perspective compared to the others. This piece was inspired by actually standing on the beach and watching some waves coming in. My favorite part of painting this was actually the movement of the water.

From the crumbling waves right on the shore to the water being pulled back, but that’s not it! You can also see a wave forming a little further out, and how the water is moving for that wave to actually turn into a wave. It was a piece that while painting it I wasn’t sure about it, but now its become one of my favorites.

This pieces is painted on a 5X7″ 140lb Hotpress Watercolor paper. The painting will need to be framed for display.
